To ensure that everyone who holds a Kobido® License is fully qualified to perform Kobido Facial Treatments, students may only receive a License by proving their skills in the Kobido® Licensing Exams.
The Licensing Exams will evaluate your technique and address any difficulties and corrections. The Exams also a pre-condition to proceed to the Japan Training. This process is necessary to preserve the calibre of our Training Program as well as the reputation and quality associated with the Kobido® License and Training.
Note: Any student who has completed Level 1 & 2 with a Licensed Instructor other than Grandmaster Shogo Mochizuki must successfully pass the Level 1 & 2 Exam before enrolling in the Level 3 class with the Grandmaster. This requirement ensures that all Level 3 students meet the same standard of proficiency.
During the transitional period from January 1st to September 30th, 2026*, all exams will be held according to the current policy, which foresees a Level 1 & 2 Exam (Techniques 1 — 100)* and a Level 3 Exam (Techniques 101 — 135).
*For the duration of this grace period, students taking the Level 1 & 2 Exam may choose to only be tested on Techniques 1 - 80.
For Level 1 & 2, the passing requirement is to perform a minimum of 70 techniques at a satisfactory level.
For Level 3, the passing requirement is to perform a minimum of 25 techniques at a satisfactory level.
The new Exam structure will be shared soon.
Level 2 will now include Techniques 1 ~ 100.
Please note: The Level 3 curriculum was significantly revised in the spring of 2026. To be eligible to take any exams past Level 2, all students must have attended the updated Level 3 classes offered in June 2026 or later.
Candidates must successfully pass both exams in order to qualify for a License. The Level 1 & 2 Exam may be completed prior to taking the Level 3 Class.
The exam consists of an evaluation by the Grandmaster himself. As you demonstrate each technique one after the other, Gran Maestro Shogo Mochizuki will evaluate whether it is satisfactory, determining which techniques require more practice.
All exams will take place in a group Zoom call for the price of €98 per exam or attempt.
Exams are typically held on Thursdays at 4 p.m. (Japan Time). Each exam typically takes approximately 2 hours.
The exams will be held in English or Japanese. If you require a live-time translator, please make sure to arrange one ahead of time.
We encourage everyone to practice thoroughly by relying on our textbooks and video lessons before taking the test. Please consider that the average student takes about two or three times to pass the examination. After each attempt, we will offer a detailed evaluation of which techniques you have not passed, so that you may practice them and challenge the exam again.
Please contact our office via e-mail to join our exam waitlist. Kindly note that exam sessions are held on an infrequent basis according to Grandmaster Shogo Mochizuki’s availability. It might take some time before we are able to offer you an exam date.
